The Talent Stop Classes

Our Performing Arts Academy operates during term time with weekly classes consisting of three equal length sessions in acting classes, dance classes and singing classes. Classes are limited to no more than 16 children per class and are divided into three age groups:

What do the classes cover?

• Our acting classes cover techniques for Stage and TV; including, voice production, concentration, mime, improvisation, script and poetry.
• Our dance classes study Hip Hop 'n' Street and Jazz styles; including posture, coordination, strength, stretch, creative-expression and modern combinations for Shows and Pop.
• Our singing classes work on both Musical Theatre and Pop: including, tuning, breathing, rhythm and interpretation.

All students get the opportunity to showcase the skills that they have learnt from their acting classes, singing classes and dance classes by performing in the Grand Annual Show and Choreography Competition.

Sapphire School of Dance

Our dance school, Sapphire School of Dance offers classes covering Ballet, Tap, Modern-Jazz and Lyrical from 2½ years to adult. As well as learning all the funky stuff in Performing Arts, some children want to float like ballerinas and we're able to cater for both.

Ballet is the most important subject a dancer can learn and provides a technical grounding for all styles of dance. So for those who want to take their studies a little more seriously, the combination of Sapphire Dance Essential and The Talent Stop Performing Arts is perfect.

Within a disciplined environment, students are developed through the progressive grades of the Dance Teachers Federation and ISTD syllabi with examinations and medal tests actively encouraged.

Our Adult classes run in Caversham on Wednesday evenings where we teach Tap, Ballroom, Latin and Sequence Dancing purely for fun. We also specialise in teaching and choreographing Wedding Dances if you need a helping hand to get round the floor in style!
